Eshott Flying Club

Eshott Airfield N55 16.5 W001 43.3       Grid Ref. NZ 177  984

Eshott Flying Club in its present form has been in existence for about eight years and is predominantly a microlight flying club which also caters for GA (General Aviation).
A legal requirement of learning to fly microlights is that the student and instructor are members of the same Flight Training Organization (FTO), therefore once the student has embarked on a course of instruction he or she is required to join the club.

Note: It is not necessary to join the club in order to have a trial flight even though the time spent flying on the trial flight can be logged towards the acquisition of a licence.   The trial lesson is actually exercise 3 (air experience flight) in the BMAA Syllabus.

Members and their guests have full use of the well appointed club-house which has catering facilities, office and instructor briefing room.  As well as being a social centre the clubhouse forms the Control centre for the club where pilots "book-in" and "book out" in the airfield log.  (another legal requirement).

For more detail of the club and airfield visit:  www.eshottairfield.co.uk

Membership to Eshott Flying Club is £30 per annum with a £20 joining fee.  This covers use of the clubhouse and airfield including the runways but not hangarage.
Hangarage is available for flexwing and fixed wing microlights and light aircraft.
Hangarage enquiries to Steve Clarehugh, Airfield Manager 01670 787 067.
