Eshott Flying Club in its present form
has been in existence for about eight years and is predominantly a microlight flying club
which also caters for GA (General Aviation).
A legal requirement of learning to fly microlights is that the student and instructor are
members of the same Flight Training Organization (FTO), therefore once the student has
embarked on a course of instruction he or she is required to join the club.
Note: It is not necessary to join the club in order to have a trial flight even though the
time spent flying on the trial flight can be logged towards the acquisition of a licence.
The trial lesson is actually exercise 3 (air experience flight) in the BMAA
Syllabus.
Members and their guests have full use of the well appointed club-house which has catering
facilities, office and instructor briefing room. As well as being a social centre
the clubhouse forms the Control centre for the club where pilots "book-in" and
"book out" in the airfield log. (another legal requirement).
